MORE THAN 3 DECADES

and two generations converting
our passion into our profession.

El Tajo story began in 1985, when Rafael and Encarna decided to pursue a new business venture with the opening of El Tajo Restaurant in Mijas costa, next to the holiday resort Club la Costa (Urbanización Marina del Sol).

The ethos of the restaurant was to offer local and traditional cuisine to the public, especially to the all national and international tourists, since El Tajo is located in one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol.

Always trying to deliver a warm and relaxed atmosphere, making customers feel like home, and this is the main reason as to why today we can call many of our customers “family”,  which would not be possible without the untiring work and commitment of our experienced staff.

In 2017, their son Javier, after graduating from the Benalmadena’s Hospitality School, and the Sommelier’s School in Madrid and Marbella, takes over the management, bringing with him a wide experience within the hospitality industry.

Javier’s purpose remains to keep the same business philosophy and values inherited from his parents, along with his passion and love for this profession.

At El Tajo, we continue with the same passion and enthusiasm just like the very first day.
